At BSB Industry, Jaroslaw combines an ambitious professional life seamlessly with the role of family man

As the Supply Chain Manager for BSB Industry's departments in Poland, Jarosław Milczarek oversees procurement, inventory, and orders. Alongside his handpicked team, he searches for opportunities to optimize and enhance various processes in the value chain for the benefit of customers. In his leisure time, Jaroslaw's heart beats for both sports, reading and his family.

- We need at all times to stay ahead of the market and be cutting edge in our processes. It could be securing a steel purchase contract before prices rise or ensuring the optimal loading of steel elements onto trucks for efficiency and safety, says Jarosław Milczarek, the Supply Chain Manager at BSB Industry's Polish division.

He feels lucky to have a skilled team.

- I am proud of my team. They are all skilled specialists, and over the 5 years I've been here, we have become more proficient and have reached a higher level. It's a credit to the entire team. I usually say that a leader's strength lies in his team, and I've been fortunate in that regard.

The humble leader personally selected and hired his 11 of 15 employees at BSB Industry in Ciechocin and Toruń, Poland. They are responsible for procurement, inventory, orders, documentation, and project management. Jarosław Milczarek grants his team significant autonomy in task resolution and maintains a constructive dialogue with them.

He played a role in an Oscar-winning film

The 45-year-old Supply Chain Manager works not far from Toruń, where he grew up and resides. Before joining BSB Industry in 2019, Jarosław Milczarek travelled the world, studied, and gained valuable experiences.

- I've been to Baja California in Mexico, where I was an extra at the Oscar-winning film 'Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World' with Russell Crowe. It was fun, and I learned a lot about organizing and planning. I have pursued several education programs in marketing and economics, including writing about purchasing strategies at the doctoral’s level, shares Jarosław Milczarek.

- Previously, I worked for American, German, Polish, Danish and Norwegian companies in Poland. It has been enlightening. I appreciate the special Scandinavian corporate culture, which is also evident for all to see at BSB. This culture is about being responsible, solid and credible. Proactivity and open-mindedness are welcome for daily work. There is a deep understanding that we are not robots, but rather thinking individuals who can take action whenever needed, including the allowance for making mistakes. These are values that I and all other employees appreciate.

He´s passionate about sports

During his free time, Jarosław Milczarek enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and twin daughters. His significant leisure interest is sports and sci-fi literature, and he strives to be as active himself as possible.

- I jog or cycle quite much and try to stay fit. When I was a child, I lived near the speedway track in Toruń, so I grew up with speed. My biggest passion is speedway and the NBA. I love all sports. Even chess and synchronized swimming captivate me. My daughters swim, and they are much faster than me, so I have to surrender here, says Jarosław Milczarek with a smile that reveals the importance to him of family.

He envisions himself as a part of BSB's future, mainly because he shares the cultural and business approach.

- We have a few challenging tasks. Identifying weaknesses, making a plan and improving things are some of the things I am interested in. We can always optimize processes, but sometimes the challenge is the pace. I usually say that we need to get the body to keep up with the mind, emphasizes Jarosław Milczarek.
