BSB Industry to be ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certified

ISO certifications of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System 45001 and the Environmental Management System 14001 will provide greater transparency, safety, health, efficiency, process optimization, motivation and access to new markets and customers for BSB Industry.

QHSE - BSB Industry - Safety is paramount

In his capacity as CEO of BSB Industry Teddy Norsgaard Jørgensen has initiated the ISO certification process in collaboration with production manager Heino Pedersen.

"Throughout the years, BSB Industry has had a strong focus on ensuring a great working environment for its employees and on reducing the company's environmental impact. The company however has grown so large that it is now necessary to supplement our ISO 9001 certification and implement ISO certifications 45001 and ISO 14001. These standards will ensure that management and employees move in the same direction and help us to continuously develop our work processes, optimize quality, improve our working environment and minimize our environmental impact," explains Teddy Norsgaard Jørgensen.

BSB Industry takes care of its people and the environment

With the certifications of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, BSB Industry takes aim at documenting work processes and systematizing all good efforts and actions that contribute to the development of production.

As Quality & Process Specialist in BSB Industry, Winnie Fedders is at the forefront of the ISO certifications, that are expected to be in place by spring of 2020.

Greater awareness and more systematic approaches will simplify our work processes and ensure uniform high quality, efficient workflows and an even better work environment, as well as a greater focus on how we can reduce our environmental impact and take real responsibility for the world we will leave to our children and grandchildren.

PDCA – Plan, Do, Check and Act

At BSB Industry, Winnie Fedders and her colleagues, stick to the concept of PDCA, which in steps is about planning a task, executing it, checking the result and initiating an optimization process.

"We are currently measuring noise and emissions on one of our processing machines. The task is planned and ongoing, and when completed, we can assess the result and, if necessary, make changes to the need for protective equipment or optimize the extraction if it turns out that emissions are too high. This measure is a concrete example of how we are constantly increasing the protection of employees and striving to ensure a good and healthy work environment," explains Winnie Fedders, Quality & Process Specialist at BSB Industry.

Focus on sustainability and the environment

The certifications of the occupational health and safety management system 45001 and the environmental management system 14001 meet both BSB Industry's own requirements and the customers' desire for greater transparency and certainty that BSB Industry is improving both its working environment and the greater environment in general.

"It is an integral part of the DNA of BSB Industry to care about our employees and the environment. Cutting, machining and welding of steel, stainless steel and aluminum is a tough business and it takes a lot of energy. By using green energy, sorting waste and applying recycled materials and up-to-date machinery, we do our utmost to take good care of the environment and our employees," emphasizes Teddy Norsgaard Jørgensen.
